This is a digital signage application that displays Geo-Tagged news stories from the web on a real-time 3D globe. Prototyping environments like Quartz Composer are great for mixing lots of different technologies quickly. We used a combination of GLSL shaders, GEO-RSS and Javascript to be able to plot the news stories accurately on the virtual planet.
